Riverside Garden Project Update

You can see here our garden wall in a good state many years ago. Now it is “approaching structural failure” and we are raising funds to rebuild the wall so as to secure the riverside garden. While we do this we hope to improve riverside access for all, but especially those who use wheelcairs or have mobility problems.

Great news is that we were given a grant by the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire of £2,500!

We also have £5k in memory of a Meditation Group member and garden lover, £500 from Newbury Building Society, £2k from events and £9k gift aid money from the last appeal

So a total of £19k, which is a great start.

But there is some way to go for our £160k target

Lots of work is going on to apply for grants and approach local businesses. Our application to a fund all about Thriving in Nature for £50k went in yesterday… we will hear in late August. Now on with an application to the Town Council for £20k, to be in by 19th August, and with other applications.
